Ruarai Factory is one of seven washing stations operated by the Ruthaka Farmers Cooperative Society, representing 3,557 active smallholder producers across approximately 472 hectares of coffee farmland. Farmers deliver freshly harvested cherries to the factory, where the coffee is sorted, weighed, and processed. This cooperative system brings together the harvests of many small-scale farmers, reflecting the collective character of Kenya’s coffee-growing communities.
